I have lost my mind.
NaNoWriMo is underway and I am actively participating. I've got people coming in from out of town this month. I have the usual holiday madness we all have to deal with coming up. I run a magic(k)al circle and am responsible for writing an article for our newsletter as well as a BIG, MOMENTOUS ritual for December. I've got harp music to record for a friend's wedding. You'd think I had way too much on my plate already...you'd think I wouldn't feel the need to churn out 50,000 words, or the rough equivalent of 175 pages, in the span of 30 days, right?
I've got around 2,800 words at the moment. I'm posting in the forums on the nanowrimo.org site. I've got the little wordcount meter I dutifully update every morning. I even made a third journal to keep specifically the NaNo-produced sections of my novel separate and apart from what I've already written. I sat there and typed in 115 interests for that journal and put up a post announcing its advent in my primary journal.
It's like a new religion, man. What? There's a cult...all about writing, and writing badly? Sign my arse up!
Anyone else doing the NaNo thing, or am I the only lunatic here?
